Downtown

Photo of Bonfire with Cityscape

Downtown San Diego encompasses eight different neighborhoods: Gaslamp, East Village, Columbia, Marina, Cortez, Little Italy, Horton Plaza, and Core. These neighborhoods are the heart of our business, arts, and entertainment communities. Twenty years of redevelopment has transformed Downtown into a vibrant and exciting place to live, work, and play. Currently, more than 8,000 residential housing units are under construction. The Downtown Information Center in the NBC building across from Horton Plaza is a great start for information about tours, activities, and restaurants.
