John Rivera serves as Chief of Staff and Communications Director for Councilmember Faulconer.

John had served as the City of San Diego ’s Public Safety and Neighborhood Services committee consultant from 2003-2005 and 2007. The committee recommended a budgeting system for the San Diego Police Department and San Diego Fire-Rescue Department to help prioritize investment in Public Safety.

Previously, John ran several small businesses and has been a professor at different California universities. John graduated from San Diego State and Claremont University with an earned PhD.

Matt Awbrey is Councilmember Faulconer's representative and policy advisor for Little Italy, Point Loma and Midway.

A native San Diegan, Matt received his bachelor's degrees in International Relations and Communication from the University of California at Davis. He has worked at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, and on a number of San Diego political campaigns.

Thyme Curtis is Councilmember Faulconer's representative and policy advisor for Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and Mount Soledad.

A 12-year resident of the city of San Diego and a graduate of San Diego State University with her Bachelor's degree in public relations, Thyme enjoys hiking with her dogs, traveling, gardening, and photography.

James Lawson is Councilmember Faulconer's representative and policy advisor for Downtown, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay, Mission Hills, Banker's Hill and Old Town.

James has been a resident of the San Diego area since 2001 and is currently finishing his education at the University of San Diego.

Tanya Lundy serves as office manager and scheduler for Councilmember Faulconer. Prior to joining District 2 in June 2007, Tanya spent over 10 years in the public relations industry and over 20 years in the utility industry. Tanya has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Her volunteer work includes working with children and victims of domestic violence. Tanya enjoys cooking and traveling.

Steve McNally serves as Senior Advisor and Audit Committee Consultant for Councilmember Faulconer. Prior to his appointment with Councilmember Faulconer, Steve founded several small companies in the software and technology industries. Most recently, he owned and operated a manufacturing and distribution company that specialized in radio and wireless test equipment.
