CERT disaster medical training teaches volunteers basic medical care – life saving techniques to help stop the "three killers" (loss of breathing, bleeding and shock). Additional instruction involves "triage" (how to sort patents quickly into "immediate", "delayed" and "walking wounded" categories for care), basic medical treatment and treatment with found objects such as cardboard or magazines for limb splints. |
