Cert San Diego Volunteers
After certification, CERT volunteers join a regional CERT San Diego team to stay active in the
community and to maintain their training. CERT San Diego offers annual refresher drills, continuing
education, such as CERT Helicopter classes and updated credentials. Once individual CERT teams become
large enough, they split off to create their own community CERT team (such as Tierrasanta CERT).
CERT San Diego helps communities build a base of emergency preparedness that communities can count
on when the need arises. Our training fosters the spirit of neighbor-to-neighbor volunteer support
and brings communities together for a common cause. It increases partnership between communities,
volunteers, City officials and the San Diego Fire-Rescue department in times of need.
If you do not live or work in the City of San Diego, there are other CERT programs in San Diego
county in cities such as El Cajon, Chula Vista, Del Mar and Oceanside. Visit
County
of San Diego CERT Contacts to find your local CERT program.
