Our extensive Speakers Bureau presents professionals from a variety of our facilities that deliver expertise in areas such as chemistry, biology, civil engineering, project management, and ocean monitoring. They'll share information that highlights our:

• Ocean monitoring program including state-of-the-art chemistry and biology laboratories
• Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant that processes approximately 180 million gallons of wastewater a day from San Diego and 15 other cities and districts
• North City Water Reclamation Plant (located off I-805 and Miramar Road)
• South Bay Water Reclamation Plant (located off I-5 and Dairy Mart Road)
• Metro Biosolids Center (located on Convoy Street off Route 52)
• Industrial Wastewater Control Program (monitors wastewater from industries)
• Grease-Related Sewer Spill Education
• Sewer Spill Prevention Program
• Volunteer Canyon Watchers Program
• Storm Water Pollution Prevention

Tours

Tours of our operating plants are also available. Learn about the treatment process, water reuse, and how we protect public health and San Diego's unique environment. Tours are available to school, community, civic and professional groups.

• Age: Nine years and older. Due to safety concerns, exceptions cannot be made.
• We offer tours Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 a.m. – 12 noon.
• Reservations are first-come, first-served and depend on staff availability. Please provide at least two weeks' advance notice.
• We welcome groups of five or more. Individual tours are generally not available.
• Tours are approximately 90 minutes in duration. Walking is involved. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Sunscreen is recommended.
