CSDS: City of San Diego Youth Swim

Photo of Swim Team in Pool

CSDS is a multi-level, progressive youth swim program that offers a range of competitive swimming opportunities for children ages 5 to 17. The level of commitment, training and performance increases with each level of participation. Competition is scheduled year-round for the White and Silver Levels at the 13 City pools, and at various county-wide locations for the Blue Level.

Levels of Participation

The White Level is for the swimmer who is new to competitive swimming. Focus is placed on instruction and technique of the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly).

The Silver Level introduces the athlete to the more structured competitive aspect of swimming. Training and swim meets are planned around the development of the athletes.

The Blue Level is the most advanced level of competition in CSDS. This level is for USA members only; membership to USA Swimming is required. Many local and western-state swim meets are scheduled for these more-advanced swimmers. For more information, visit USA Swimming and San Diego-Imperial County Swimming.
